The Botwork Place

Our place in the IT market

I started this project for a lot of reasons, privacy, security, data sovereignty and as an experiment. While we are very AI-heavy it’s important to understand that we are not trying to ride the hype-train. The current situation in the world is very complex, we should not do the same things as in the last decade if we want to keep up the innovation while still making sure that we don’t loose our ethics and that our privacy is maintained.

The cross-road

When it comes to AI I see it as that we are at a cross-road, we have to be careful to how we let this into our lives and there really need to be more openness to when there is no human on the other end. We have also year after year given all of our lives to the huge tech-companies! These companies are the driving force behind AI, how do you think they will use their power?

Transparency

For me it’s clear that we need to be aware about how we proceed from here. At Botwork we will be 100% transparent with how both data and funds are being used, this is done because of the AI used here and the type of data stored. We give our customers a monthly report around the financial situation and data storage (a more technical description about the setup and what changes we work on or have implemented). Every single customer should have just as much say in the dealings of their data and what they actually pay for. Especially as a lot of Botwork is run by AI. It’s not as any other company and therefor needs to have a new approach for how it functions.

The vision

I want the company to feel just as open source as the service we run! Even if there will be proprietary code for some parts at times, said code is going to be shared with our customers under that license. The plan is also to “open source” all code when it feels mature enough, but it will be shared under a license that binds it to being a customer (working on how to formalize this).
To be continued…
