If you want you own email account with IMAP/smtp service (no web interface) this is of course possible!

The storage referred to in this case is for email storage and not cloud storeage. This means all your emails and attatched files that are stored in your IMAP. Not transfer rates, those cost 0€

There are some limitations to this offering when it comes to refunds, even though we would love to provide a free email-service its to prone to get abused by spammers so you will have to pay as you go here!

While we do recommend you to use the full cloud system there are situations where that is not possible, but just by moving your email to Europe you can actually benefit on many advantages. One of these benefits will be privacy!
